Pastor’s Message

Reaching out from Grand Lake Community Chapel

Greetings in Christ!

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it! Let us rejoice in the overnight soaking rain that replenished our gardens and lawns, and let us be glad for what looks to be a quiet day for indoor activities! As the saying goes, “into each life a little rain must fall,” and today is one of those days. We hope you have a good book to enjoy, or maybe a little shopping to take care of while the sun takes the day off.

Rainy days often give us a bit of time and space to think and pray about our lives, and that’s a very good thing. Without the pressure to be out and about in our all-too-short Up North summers, we can set aside the tools and toys that occupy so much of our time and be still; to re-set our priorities, to sharpen our focus on relationships, to rest. Don’t let the rain outside, which all living things need to survive and thrive, dampen your spirit. As the rain freshens the earth, let your soul be freshened by the quiet time. As God cares for his good creation with the perfect mix of sun and rain, let the Al-mighty care for you with the perfect mix of activity and rest. Embrace the rainy days with as much enthusiasm as you embrace the sunny ones, and remember that there are far more sunny days to enjoy! God is good, all the time; and all the time, God is good!

God bless you! Karen and Greg
