Greetings in Christ!
This is the last Tuesday of July that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it! Let us rejoice that the warm summer weeks are only halfway behind us, and let us be glad that we have several more weeks to enjoy the beauties of God’s marvelous Creation! The weather has been pretty wild for the last few days of July, but we’re still able to be out and about without slipping and sliding around. As Laura Ingalls Wilder once wrote: “Some old fashioned things like fresh air and sunshine are hard to beat,” and we couldn’t agree more! Let’s get out there and enjoy fresh air, sunshine, warm(er) waters, and all the delights that summer has yet to offer us!
While we’re spending as much time as possible reveling in the Northeast Michigan summer, let us not lose sight of the One who has gifted us with all things, especially this place we call home (for at least part of the year). We’ve touched on this a few times before, but it’s sometimes easy to overlook what a grand place we live in, and also to forget the source of it. We invite you to be very intentional about giving thanks to God every time you see a sunrise, experience a moving sunset, or smile at the antics of an animal or bird; these events, and countless more, are priceless gifts from a loving God who wants only good things for us. The least we can do is appreciate them.
We’ve all heard about the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus, and while it doesn’t seem to have yet become a major factor “up North,” we must be vigilant; hand washing, social distancing, and vaccinations (if medically possible) will help keep the Delta variant at bay, and prevent another round of lockdowns. We’ve come so far, but we’re not in the clear just yet. As always, God is good, all the time; and all the time, God is good!
God bless you!

Wishing you joy and peace in your day! Remember, God’s got this.
